Musée d'Art Hyacinthe Rigaud

A superb Fine Art museum, right in the heart of Perpignan! Discover its rich permanent and temporary collections.

The museum, housed in two private mansions, the Hôtel de Lazerme and the Hôtel de Mailly, offers a rich panorama of art works from the 15th to the 20th.

On the first floor, the permanent exhibition is divided into three sections: the Baroque period, the Gothic period and the Modern period.

The trinity Altarpiece, a true masterpice of the Gothic period, gives another perspective to Perpignan and is a must-see in this beautiful museum.

The museum is named after the painter Hyacinthe Rigaud. Born in Perpignan in 1659, he was Louis XIV's portraitist. His Baroque-style masterpieces are displayed in the museum.

The modern period is represented by artists such as Aristide Maillol, Pablo Picasso, Raoul Dufy, Jean Lurçat and Georges Daniel de Monfreid.

The second floor is entirely devoted to temporary exhibitions, showcasing artists who have had a connection with Perpignan.
